Milwaukee Chainsaw Chains

Replacement chain for Milwaukee M18 FUEL and M12 FUEL saws — the 14" and 16" rear-handle chainsaws, the 12" and 14" top-handles, the M12 and M18 HATCHET pruning saws and the M18 QUIK-LOK pole saw attachment. Alpine chain is semi-chisel, made to the same pitch, gauge and drive-link count as the Milwaukee loop it replaces, so it runs on the same bar and sprocket. Every order is checked against your saw model before it ships; that is the Guaranteed Fit.

Which chain does your Milwaukee take?

  • 3/8" low profile, .043" (1.1 mm) gauge — M18 FCHS 16" (56 drive links), M18 FCHS14 14" (52), M18 FHS8 HATCHET 8" (33), M12 FHS HATCHET 6" (28) and the M18 FOPH-CSA QUIK-LOK pole saw attachment 10" (40). Alpine LT43.
  • .325" low profile, .043" (1.1 mm) gauge — M18 FTCHS12 12" top-handle (51) and M18 FTCHS14 14" top-handle (59). Alpine EN43.

If the stamp is gone, follow the measuring guide or send us a photo and the model number; we confirm the size before anything ships.

Milwaukee chain by model

Every row is one bar length on one saw: match the drive-link count and the pitch × gauge to the stamp on your bar, then click the Alpine chain to order. Each order is checked against the saw model before it ships — the Guaranteed Fit.

Milwaukee chain questions

Which chain fits the Milwaukee M18 FUEL 16" chainsaw?

The M18 FCHS runs 3/8" low profile, .043" gauge chain with 56 drive links — Alpine LT43-S-56, the same spec as an Oregon 90PX-56. The 14" M18 FCHS14 takes the 52-link loop, LT43-S-52.

Does the Milwaukee top-handle use the same chain as the rear-handle saws?

No. The M18 FUEL top-handles run .325" low profile pitch, not 3/8": 51 drive links on the 12" FTCHS12 and 59 on the 14" FTCHS14 (Alpine EN43-S-51 and EN43-S-59, the same spec as Oregon 80TXL). Both are .043" gauge, so the gauge stamp alone will not tell you the difference — check the pitch.

Which chain fits the Milwaukee HATCHET pruning saw?

The M18 FHS8 8" HATCHET takes 3/8" low profile .043" with 33 drive links (Alpine LT43-S-33); the M12 FHS 6" HATCHET takes the same spec with 28 links (LT43-S-28).

Which chain fits the M18 QUIK-LOK pole saw attachment?

The M18 FOPH-CSA runs a 10" bar with 3/8" low profile, .043" gauge, 40 drive link chain — Alpine LT43-S-40.

Why does my M18 chain go blunt so quickly?

Battery saws spin a narrow 1.1 mm chain fast through dry hardwood, and any contact with soil or bark grit dulls the cutters in minutes. Keep the bar out of the dirt, touch the cutters up every couple of batteries (a 4.0 mm round file suits 3/8" low profile), and check tension with the snap test.
