Chain Size Cross-Reference: Alpine vs Stihl, Husqvarna & Oregon
Every Alpine Chain Co. model code tells you the chain’s exact specification. This page decodes the system and maps each Alpine size to its Stihl, Husqvarna and Oregon equivalents so you can cross-shop with confidence.
How to read an Alpine Chain Specification Code
- Prefix = pitch: NN (Nano) = 1/4" · LT (Lite) = 3/8" LP · EN (Endurance) = .325" · PF (Performance) = 3/8"
- Number = gauge: 43 = .043" (1.1mm) · 50 = .050" (1.3mm) · 58 = .058" (1.5mm) · 63 = .063" (1.6mm)
- Suffix = cutter: -S = semi-chisel · -F = full-chisel
Example: an EN58-S is a .325" pitch, .058" gauge, semi-chisel chain.

Reading the other brands’ codes
Stihl: RM and PM families are semi-chisel; RS and PS are full-chisel. Oregon: BPX, DPX, PX and AP families are semi-chisel; LPX and EXL are full-chisel.
A dash (—) means that brand doesn’t offer a direct factory equivalent in that size — match on pitch, gauge and cutter type instead. NN43-F, NN50-F, LT43-F and EN43-F have no mainstream OEM equivalent, and our PF63-SM skip-tooth milling chain is an Alpine-specific configuration.
Pitch and gauge must both match your bar exactly — they are stamped on the bar near the mount. Chain length varies with your bar; each Alpine product page lists the lengths available for that size.
