Why Crews Buy Chainsaw Chain in Bulk From Alpine
-
Downtime is the real cost. A crew standing around because the wrong chain turned up costs more than the chain. Every order is checked against your bar stamp before it ships — pitch, gauge and drive-link count — under our Guaranteed Fit promise.
-
Specified for Australian hardwood. Semi-chisel as standard, because a square-cornered full chisel chips on the grit in dry Ironbark and Red Gum bark within a few cuts. Your crew files on the site instead of driving back to the yard.
-
One supplier, 200+ configurations. 1/4", 3/8" LP, .325" and 3/8" in every gauge, for 20+ brands. Whatever's in your fleet, it's one order from one Australian chainsaw chain supplier.

Dispatched same or next business day from Melbourne.
Made-to-Order 100ft Bulk Chain Rolls
Buying chainsaw chain in bulk gives you the lowest cost per loop we offer, and it's the reason most trade accounts open one.
Our 100ft rolls are made to order in your pitch and gauge, in semi-chisel or full chisel, and include 30 tie strap joiners. You cut each loop to the drive-link count your bar needs, so one roll covers every saw in the fleet running that specification.
| Bulk roll | Drive links | Example loop | Loops per roll | Cost per loop |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3/8" LP .043" | ~1,640 | 14" = 50DL | 32 | $10.78 |
| 3/8" LP .050" | ~1,640 | 14" = 52DL | 31 | $10.81 |
| 1/4" .043" | ~2,400 | 12" = 64DL | 37 | $11.65 |
| .325" .050" | ~1,840 | 18" = 72DL | 25 | $17.60 |
| .325" .063" | ~1,840 | 18" = 68DL | 27 | $15.44 |
| 3/8" .058" | ~1,640 | 20" = 72DL | 22 | $18.95 |
| 3/8" .063" | ~1,640 | 24" = 84DL | 19 | $21.95 |
Cost per loop assumes whole loops only, before offcuts, at current retail roll pricing. A 20" loop for a Husqvarna 564 XP costs $38.95 pre-made, or about $18.95 from a roll — roughly $440 saved across a full roll.
You'll need a chain breaker and a rivet spinner to make up loops. Our guide to making chain from a 100ft roll covers the process, the tools and when buying in bulk is worth it.

Wholesale Chainsaw Chain — FAQ
Do you sell chainsaw chain wholesale in Australia?
Yes. Alpine Chain Co. supplies wholesale chainsaw chain to ABN-holding businesses Australia-wide, starting at 10% off every chain and made-to-order 100ft bulk rolls.
Who qualifies for a trade account?
Arborists, tree services, firewood merchants, councils, landscapers, farms and any business running chainsaws commercially. You'll need a valid ABN.
What discount do trade accounts get?
10% off every chain, applied automatically at checkout once you're logged in.
What is a made-to-order bulk chain roll?
A 100ft roll of chainsaw chain produced in your chosen pitch, gauge and cutter profile, supplied with 30 tie strap joiners. You cut loops to the drive-link count each bar needs.
How many chains can I make from a 100ft roll?
Between 19 and 37 depending on pitch and loop length — for example about 32 loops of 50 drive links from a 3/8" LP roll.
Is buying chainsaw chain in bulk cheaper?
Per loop, yes. A 20" 72DL loop costs about $18.95 made up from a roll versus $38.95 pre-made. Whether it saves overall depends on your volume and the cost of a chain breaker and rivet spinner.
Do I need special tools to use a bulk chain roll?
Yes — a chain breaker to cut the chain to length and a rivet spinner to set the joins. Joiner links are included with the roll.
How long does trade approval take?
Usually one business day.
Can I order chain for mixed fleets?
Yes. We fit 20+ brands across four pitches and four gauges. Send us your fleet list and we'll keep the specifications on file.
Not sure what your fleet runs?
Send us a list of your saws and bar lengths and we'll work out the pitch, gauge and drive-link count for each one before you order.
